Warrior executive producer Justin Lin issued a note to fans Friday urging them to help save the program.
The martial art/action adventure program which premiered on Cinemax in 2019 is set in Chinatown in the mid-1800s and stars Andrew Koji as Ah Samn. Unfortunately, Cinemax no longer produces original programming, leaving the future of Warrior in doubt.
“The good news is that Warrior is now available on HBOmax and all HBO platforms,” wrote Lin on Facebook. “All I’m asking is for you to share some time with us. Check out the show. It’s an immersive world filled with compelling characters and powerful stories. If you’re a fan of action or the martial arts genre, you’ll definitely enjoy it. And if you like it, please share with your friends on social media. That’s it.”
Bruce Lee originally came up with the idea and wrote an eight page treatment conceiving the program before he died. His daughter Shannon took that treatment to Lin six years ago and the program became reality.

“The series definitely channels the spirit and soul of my father as the story comes from his heart, mind and soul,” Lee’s daughter Shannon told AsAmNews in October before season 2. “My father was forward thinking and wanted to leave future generations of Asians a template to follow. He had a particular imprint when it comes to action and humor. The series does of course have great martial art action which is within the imprint of my father (very scrappy and real), but more importantly it confronts many conflicts and complex issues.”
HBOmax, to date, has not announced any plans for a third season.
A change.org petition to get season 3 confirmed generated more than 25,000 signatures and is still active.
