Madhuri Shekar is already on a roll, and she just graduated from the University of South California with a master’s degree in fine arts (MFA).
According to The Hindu, the former marketing professional will have two plays produced by two prestigious theater groups in 2014.
“I feel like I always knew I wanted to do this. I was just waiting for an opportunity,” Shekar said.
Her plays , In Love and Warcraft and A Nice Indian Boy will be produced by the Alliance Group in Atlanta and East West Players in Los Angeles.
Nice Indian Boy is a story of a gay Indian American who comes out to his parents and shortly after announces his engagement at the same time his sister who is straight is going through a divorce.

The production is Shekar’s award for winning the Kendeda playwriting contest.
