Korean Americans Thrown into Middle of Gun Control Debate

GunThe 1992 Rodney King riots in Los Angeles was a milestone in the history of Korean Americans in the United States. For many Korean Americans it was a wake up call to organize politically as a community.

Pictures of armed Korean American merchants protecting their storefront from rioters have been shown over and over again in the media. Now supporters of gun control are using that footage to advocate for gun owner rights. The argument goes that without guns, more Korean Americans would have fallen victims to looters and rioters.

You can see this argument in the Daily Paul. Let us know what you think? How do you feel about the footage being used this way? Were Korean American merchants better off because they were armed?
