One of Jeremy Lin’s first stops Thursday after being introduced to the media as a Laker was skid row, reports the Los Angeles Times.
He and fellow team members Nick Young and Xavier Henry made an appearance at the Midnight Mission to hand out thousands of gift bags. It was the first time the Lakers have gotten involved in the charity. Lin was the only one among the three to stay to serve lunch.
The homeless on the Midnight Mission did not seemed too impressed with Lin’s celebrity status. Many had to ask which one was the basketball player.
Lin didn’t seem to mind, especially after just returning from his Asian tour where he was recognized and mobbed at almost every turn.
Lin had a second reason for visiting the Midnight Mission. You can read about that in the Los Angeles Times.
