Today is election day in Los Angeles where the first Asian American in more than 20 years could be elected to the Los Angeles City Council.
A survey of vote by mail ballots finds 29 percent of Asian Americans have voted by mail compared to 11 percent in 2011, reports Christianity Daily.
Adding to the excitement are three Asian American candidates running for office.
The three candidates are David Ryu, Grace Yoo, and Nadine Diaz (pictured with her father). Ryu and Yoo are Korean Americans. Diaz is Mexican American and Japanese American.
With only a 15 percent voter turnout expected, every vote will count.
