New York City police Wednesday arrested a homeless woman in an attack on two Asian American women with a hammer.
PIX11 reports police arrested 37-year-old Ebony Jackson on six counts including two counts of assault.
The attack on May 2 in Hells Kitchen left one of the victims with a severe gash to the head which needed seven stitches, according to ABC7 News.
“She was talking to herself, like talking to a wall, I thought maybe she was drunk or something, so we just wanted to pass through her quickly and when I passed through her, she saw us and said ‘Take off your f***ing mask,’ which is shocking,” Theresa said. “Suddenly I felt my head get hit by something.”
The attack came on the same day as an anti-Asian hate rally in Queens. No hate crime charges have been filed.
