Orange County releases calendar of events for AAPI Heritage Month

Orange County, Florida, has released a calendar of events for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The county is located in Central Florida and encompasses Orlando. According to data from the U.S. Census, around 5.9% of the people living in Orange County are Asian.

At a Board of County Commissioners meeting on May 7, Mayor Jerry L. Demings announced a calendar of events for AAPI Heritage Month on behalf of the Orange County Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Committee.

The events will celebrate the cultural and historical impact of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. On May 18, the Asian American Heritage Council will host the Asian Cultural Festival. The festival will have booths for vendors selling food, crafts, art, clothing and much more.

Several events will also be hosted by the Orange County Library System.
