A Henry County police officer near Atlanta remains in critical condition after being shot responding to a domestic dispute.
Paramhans Desai, 38, is married with two children, according to CBS46. He has worked in law enforcement for 17 years and has been with the Henry County Police Department for just over two years.
“Please keep them in your thoughts & prayers,” Governor Brian Kemp tweeted Saturday.
A gunman shot the Indian American officer Thursday, but the department did not release the victim’s identity until this weekend.
Authorities are offering a $30,000 reward in this case and have named 22-year-old Jordan Jackson as the prime suspect.

Among those contributing to the reward fund is NBA star Shaquille O’Neil who joined the Department as director of community relations earlier this year and donated $5,000, reports Fox5.
Investigators say Jackson could be in a white 2021 Dodge Ram with Georgia tag CRX4743. He is described as a Black man, 5-feet 8-inches tall and weighing around 165 pounds.
“Let me be crystal clear, we certainly will not tolerate any individual, regardless of who you are, coming to what we consider to be God’s country of Henry County and harming any of our police officers in any kind of way,” Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett said during a press conference, reported 11Alive. “So Mr. Jackson whatever hole you’re in, I assure you we’re coming to find you, we will place you in custody and we will bring you to justice.”
