The Ventura County Sheriff in Southern California arrested a 25-year-old son for the murder of his mother.
Rafu Shimpo reports authorities found Tomoko Hoetzlein body dismembered in a dumpster next to the apartment where the two lived in Camarillo.
Authorities obtained a search warrant and took into custody David Hoetzlein.
CBS Los Angeles reports he is being held on $3 million bail on suspicion of murder. Authorities did not disclose a motive in the case but believe the incident was isolated.
He faces 25 years to life in prison, according to Fox11. The District Attorney formally charged Hoetzlein on Tuesday.
Neighbors told CBS LA the news left them stunned.
“it’s just a shock, a shock honestly, that it happened in the city,” said one.
“This is my little Mayberry,” said another. “This is my happy place. There’s never ever crime here.
