Japanese soccer player continues to impress on big stage

Japanese soccer player Kaoru Mitoma is off to a bright start this season in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old plays on the left wing for Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. in the English Premier League. The 2023/24 season will be his second full season with the team.

Brighton has won its first two games of the season this August 4-1 each time. In the first game against Premier League newcomers Luton Town, Mitoma had an assist for the team’s opening goal of the season.

During the team’s second game and 4-1 win over Wolves, Mitoma scored his first goal of the season. He picked up the ball just past the halfway line and dribbled through the Wolves defense to score.

Mitoma captured the heart of football fans last season. During the 2022/23 season, he played 33 matches, scored seven goals and recorded five assists.
