Sonia Chopra, an editor at Vox’s Eater for six years, will officially take over Bon Appetit as Executive Editor on August 24.
Media Post reports she will lead Bon Appétit, Epicurious, Healthyish and Basically.
The news comes just days after three staffers at Bon Appetit’s Test Kitchen resigned over allegations of pay disparities and treatment for workers of color there.
Assistant food editor Sohla El-Waylly, contributing writer Priya Krishna, and contributing food editor Rick Martinez all resigned, according to TubeFilter. In June, El-Waylly accused Bon Appetit of asking her to assist mostly White editors with significantly less experience than her.

Krishna and Martinez also say they were offered proposed contracts not on par with their White colleagues.
“These past few months have been disappointing and insulting,” Krishna wrote on Twitter. “I am constantly being told that I am an important part of the test kitchen, yet leadership refuses to acknowledge that in the form of compensation or opportunities.”
“We pay all our employees fairly, and in accordance with their role and experience,” parent company Condé Nast said in a statement to Business Insider. “Our pay practices are in line with industry standards. To suggest that we are paying individuals differently based on race, gender or any other reason simply isn’t true.”
