Calgary man screams “go back to your country, ch*nk”

The latest example of anti-Asian racism in Canada comes from Calgary.

Otis Chan wrote on Instragram that a racist launched “into a verbal tirade, everything from “chinky China” to ” go back to your country ch*nk”, even wanted me to fight him.”

Chan said he decided instead to drive away, but the man ran after him, kicking his vehicle and spitting on that.

“It pissed him off when I ignored him, and closed my window, resulting in him spitting on the window.

“I immediately left site, drove 2 blocks east, and parked to finish my paperwork.

“Lo and behold, he ran down and followed me there.

“This video is once I realized he was actually following me.
After he kicked in my mirror, he ran into the building.”

Calgary racist

“I’ve now returned to the original job site and am waiting for Calgary police to arrive. This world needs a cleansing…..”

Last month, AsAmNews reported that  The Chinese Canadian National Council for Social Justice released a study which found that per capita, Canada has seen more reports of anti-Asian racism than the United States.

“The disturbing racialization of COVID-19 requires urgent action,” The Chinese Canadian National Council for Social Justice said, via its Twitter page. “We must unreservedly condemn all anti-Asian racism which has spread as despicable political actors continue to scapegoat Asian, immigrant and migrant and racialized communities for the impact of COVID-19.”
