Netflix has canceled its new original show “Blockbuster” after just one season, Variety reports. The show follows Timmy Yoon, played by Randall Park, the manager of the last Blockbuster store.
The series also starred Melissa Fumero, J.B. Smoove, Olga Merediz, Tyler Alvarez, Madeleine Arthur, and Kamaia Fairburn. Vanessa Ramos was the series’ creator.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show ended with the Blockbuster store ruined by a storm-induced riot. Eliza (Fumero) had also just realized she had romantic feelings for Timmy.
Before Netflix announced they were canceling the show, Ramos told Entertainment Weekly that she was waiting to plan what happened to Timmy, Eliza and the other characters until a renewal was announced.
