A pastor of the Canaan Taiwanese Christian Church in San Jose found swastikas etched into the glass of his community center.
ABC7 News reports this is one of a number of incidents that have affected the mostly Chinese congregation at the church and an Islamic school right across the street.
The incident at the Church happened two days before the election, but the pastor has no doubt about the motivation.
“After the election we thought this is more than just graffiti,” said Pastor Ralph Sue of Canaan Taiwanese Christian Church. “This is something people want to express their feelings and their emotion and put that sign up there.”
Members of his church have been told to go back to China. It’s the same sort of bigoted behavior encountered by members of the neighboring Saba Academy.
“Some of our ladies, because they wear the scarves, have had some negative comments against them,” said Sami Hijaz of Saba Academy. “‘Go back home.'”
AsAmNews has also learned that a Korean American Christian Church in East Oakland has also been victimized by racist vandals since the election. Asian American Studies professor Russell Jeung of San Francisco State said it happened in his neighborhood, but said the church does not want the publicity.

RE: Two Asian American churches hit by racist vandals: I usually see the Nazi swastika spin the other way. This swastika I usually see in Buddhist temples where they symbolizes harmony. Am I wrong? I’m confused what the person who did it want to say.
