Did you or your kids grow up with Blue’s Clue?
The popular children’s program on Nickelodeon which originally debuted in 1996 is getting a reboot-this time with a Filipino American host.
Joshua Dela Cruz of Broadway’s Aladdin fame is taking on the starring role in the new retitled program, Blue’s Clues and You, reports
The Hollywood Reporter
“Well, the dog’s out of the bag,” Dela Cruz wrote on Instagram.
“The search for the new host of Blue’s Clues & You was no small task, but we knew as soon as we met Josh that he was the perfect choice,” said Shelly Sumpter Gillyard, Executive Vice President, Talent, Music and Events, Nickelodeon Group, said to Deadline. “From his genuineness to his comedic timing and range, there was no doubt that he could carry the show on for the next generation of preschoolers.”
Returning will be Blue, an animated puppy who leaves paw prints for preschool-aged children to find and decipher.
Dela Cruz will replace the original host, Steve Burns, who helped to select Dela Cruz.
“I had the great honor of being a part of the search for the new host, and I give Josh two thumbs up,” Burns said to The Hollywood Reporter. “He can definitely fill my shoes, and the rugby shirt.”

RE: New Host for blue’s clue Reboot Announced: I’m of the generation that was brought up to think so into the sciences. I’m now convinced if you want to make a difference to change how people perceive Asians, go into the arts. Acting, music . Some people never get to meet an Asian person, they only know what they see on tv.
