She will represent the 2nd district of Hawaii. Tami Duckworth is a disabled Iraq War veteran and 1st Thai American elected to Congress. She will represent the suburbs  of  Chicago.  Grace Meng was elected to represent New York and is the 1st Asian American elected to congress from the state.  And Dr. Ami Bera is just the third Indian Am elected to Congress. He defeated an incumbent in one of the tightest races in the country after being endorsed by former President Bill Clinton.

Here’s the story from Asian Fortune.

How long will it take for Asian American representation in Congress to be equal to its population?
