The Bachelor has cast three Asian American contestants in its upcoming season, according to Next Shark.
On Monday, ABC posted “an early look” at the contestants for Season 24 to their Facebook page. The post contained the first names, last initials and photos of the new contestants. The early look revealed that three of the contestants are Asian American.
Jasmine Nguyen, Eunice Cho and Tammy Ly are among 33 women that will vie for Peter Weber’s heart. Not much is known about Nguyen and Cho, according to Next Shark. Nguyen is a 29-year-old from Houston Texas. Cho is based in Chicago.
Tammy Ly is a real-estate agent from Syracuse who speaks both English and Vietnamese.
This season may have the highest representation of Asian Americans in the history of The Bachelor franchise. Former Asian American contestants have done well on the show. Filipino American Catherine Lowe won season 17, Sean Lowe’s season. She and Lowe are now married with two children. Caila Quinn placed third on the twentieth season of the show. She was also almost made the next bachelorette.
