The San Francisco Police Department has arrested a man who allegedly threatened to kill Asian Americans, NBC News Bay Area reports.

According to police, 45-year-old Darrell Hunter stopped in a store on Golden Gate Ave. four times in one week and threatened to shoot Asian people, The Sacramento Bee reports. The 42-year-old Asian woman who owned the store said he came into the store three times before threatening to shoot Asian Americans.

“Third day he came in leaned on the door he said he get the gun and shoot the Chinese people in here,” the victim, who wished to remain anonymous, told NBC News Bay Area.

After he made the threat, the victim reported the incident to the police. Hunter fled before the police arrived but was later arrested on Tuesday morning in the Tenderloin district.

According to NBC News Bay Area, jail records indicate Hunter was booked on hate crime charges. He is currently being held without bail and is expected in court on Thursday.
