Puka Nacua, a rookie wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, received a shout-out from Lebron James.
The NBA champion mentioned Nacua while discussing his picks for this week’s NFL games, The Los Angeles Times reports. He mentioned that Nacua would be teaming up with receiver Cooper Kupp, the Super Bowl LVI MVP, who just returned to the Rams lineup after an injury.
“Kupp is coming back today, so now you got the dynamic duo, the two-headed monster with Cooper Kupp and Puka Doncic,” James said in an Instagram video.
James combined Nacua’s name with Luka Donic, the name of a top NBA player on the Dallas Mavericks. Nacua commented on a post the NFL made about James’ shout-out writing, “Im so hype yall have no idea.”
Nacua has had a historic start to his first NFL season. According to NBC Sports, his 31 receptions in his first four games set an NFL record.
“I’m just trying to do my job,” Nacua said after reporters per ESPN asked if he could maintain his high stats. “So whenever No. 9 throws the ball my way, I’m super happy because I know he’s making my job as easy as it could be.”
